Meet our Team

Brad Burns South Dakota Architect

Brad Burns

  • Brad’s approach to design is to first develop a clear vision for each project and then to use that as his guide until the project is complete. He thoughtfully interweaves form, function, and materials in each building with the goal of enhancing the experience of the people who use them. His relaxed manner with people, creative solutions, and diligent focus on details help to deliver consistently exceptional projects and satisfied clients.

  • Chamberlin Architects’ eclectic approach to architecture encompasses many building types, and Brad enjoys the variety of working relationships he has developed with people from local municipalities, the State of South Dakota, and South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, as well as the local business owners, and individuals.

Casey Sievila

Vice President, Interior Designer, ASID

  • I appreciate learning about the different businesses locally and on the Western Slope as I meet a wide variety of people in our community through our projects. The design work I do has a visible impact on the community that I call home and the surrounding communities in Western Colorado.

  • I love the small town feel and plentiful sunshine in Grand Junction, and that the location gives me easy access to the mountains. My commute to work is 1.8 miles, my journey to my favorite mountain retreat in the San Juans is under 2 hours.

Daniel Gartner Grand Junction Architect

Daniel Gartner

Vice President, AIA, LEED AP, CDT

  • Architecture creates the context for our lives. Over the last 30+ years of working at Chamberlin, I have been entrusted to shape all sorts of environments, from schools to hospitals to courtrooms and recreation facilities. By making them beautiful and inspiring, I hope I have enriched the events and experiences that people have in those places.

  • Grand Junction is very middle America with a Colorado twist. Neither too big nor too small, people are friendly, and it is easy to find your place. It is also easy to make a difference here.

Eric Mendell Architect Grand Junction

Eric Mendell

AIA, LEED AP

  • Chamberlin was such a supportive place to learn and grow starting out as an intern architect. Now that I have more experience I have even more appreciation for the way the firm engages employees to collaborate on all aspects of the practice: from business strategies and office culture, to design ideas and technology.

  • Grand Junction is like a really big small town – it has benefits of both rural and urban living. I can live and work in vibrant downtown while still being able to pedal from my house to some of the best mountain biking in the world. Nearby we have access to endless outdoor activities and beautiful landscapes.

Eric Tscherter

President, AIA, LEED AP

  • Eric is a hands-on and detail-oriented leader who keeps the “big picture” at the forefront. He has deep experience in project management for remodels and new construction in a variety of building types which include assembly spaces, municipal buildings, and healthcare. When beginning with existing structures, his first step is always an assessment of existing conditions, research for code information, review of immediate issues with the Owner, and then anticipating where problems may occur.

  • Mr. Tscherter has been responsible for design assistance and construction administration for St. Mary’s Hospital Century Project in Grand Junction, a $275 million, five year project.

Jessi Bergeleen

Interior Designer

  • I like working for Chamberlin Architects because of the people I work with. Each one of the smiling faces you see on our Team page is dedicated to make each project unique and they strive for perfection. They think of the little details and coordinate to ensure each project goes smoothly. I am constantly in awe of the creative solutions that the Chamberlin Architects family produces for our clients.

  • I moved back to Rapid City to return to the landscape and communities that make up the Black Hills. You are never bored and there is something for everyone all year round.

Kelli Trebil is an Interior Designer in Rapid City South Dakota

Kelli Trebil

  • Chamberlin has been a great place to continue to grow as a designer. With the highly collaborative atmosphere and confidence to let designers pursue their ideas, Chamberlin is a place where I can work with clients to realize their visions using a full range of creative solutions. Our focus on developing lasting relationships with each client and consultant also means that we get to know each person involved in a design project in a way that lasts beyond the end of a project.

  • I moved to Rapid City almost 20 years ago and it has been exciting to watch the city grow and mature into the capstone of western South Dakota. It's easy to spend the day on the mountain trails or discover the history of the Black Hills, but the ever-growing list of performing arts, farmers markets, family events and extensive city parks are what our family really loves about this area.

Merve Gale

Architectural Designer

  • Following her graduation with a Bachelor of Architecture, Merve embarked on a diverse career journey, contributing her expertise to notable projects such as the US Embassy Compound in Ankara, Turkey. In this role, she navigated every stage of development, assuming pivotal positions including site supervisor, office engineer, and assistant manager. Subsequently, she co-founded a Design & Build company alongside her brother, specializing in crafting exquisite luxury vacation homes, upscale residential properties, and refined dining establishments in the picturesque coastal enclave of Bodrum, Turkey.

Merve finds immense satisfaction in witnessing the reactions of clients upon project completion. The culmination of her meticulous planning and execution results in elegant, functional spaces that resonate with both beauty and purpose. Her current endeavor with the Chamberlin Team marks a thrilling chapter, as she collaborates on diverse commercial ventures. Recognizing the transformative impact of larger-scale projects, Merve eagerly embraces the opportunity to extend her influence and touch more lives through her architectural endeavors.

  • Merve followed her heart to Grand Junction after meeting her now-husband. Although she misses the ocean, she loves Grand Junction because of its gorgeous views in all seasons. Paddling from hot summer days to cold-but-mostly-sunny winter days, surrounded by world famous ski hills, orchards, forests and hikes, Grand Junction never lets her have a dull moment.

Ian French

Architectural Designer

  • Chamberlin is a great place to really explore all the possibilities that architecture can offer. No two projects are similar, ranging from remodels in historic wild west towns to the latest fire station design, there is always something to learn. Luckily Chamberlin is a place where no matter the project, someone has seen it before and is willing to share their knowledge.

  • Rapid City and the surrounding Black Hills are filled with a huge variety of things to keep you busy and entertained. There is always something for everyone.

Kevin Taylor

Architect

  • As a committed member of Chamberlin Architects, Kevin excels in formulating innovative solutions for clients. With a fervent dedication to collaborative teamwork, he finds fulfillment in closely engaging with the design team and clientele to actualize their visions. From tackling problem-solving challenges to optimizing efficiencies, Kevin remains steadfast in delivering exceptional outcomes at every juncture. A native Coloradan hailing from the western slopes, Kevin harbors a passion for mountain biking, although his current commitments leave him with scarce leisure time. Despite the demands posed by raising three young children, he occasionally indulges in his love for the outdoors and even manages to find time for stop-frame animation pursuits.

  • Set against stunning vistas, life on the Western Slopes embodies a welcoming atmosphere, small-town charm, and diverse recreational activities, making it an ideal home. Embracing its relaxed pace, Kevin appreciates the ample resources for children and the school system's strong focus on their needs, a notable departure from his past experiences.
