The Growth Fund operates and manages most of the business entities and investments of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe.

By 2013 the Growth Fund had out-grown their existing 50,000 sf headquarters building. Programming determined that they needed to nearly double their space.

In order to accommodate the large expansion and support functions in a central location, Chamberlin designed this three-story headquarters adjacent to the existing building. Creating of a campus feeling and facilitating pedestrian movement between the two buildings were priorities. Exterior building materials include limestone, metal panels, and high-performance glazing shaded by aluminum screens supported by steel light standards.

The headquarters building features a dramatic three-story atrium, a crisp executive board room, and Native American artwork throughout the corridors. In addition to general office functions, the building includes meeting rooms, locker rooms, “prep” kitchens and break rooms, an IT server room, a technology workroom, and other support areas.

Space planning resulted in successfully co-locating nine separate departments within this single building. We started with block diagrams that identified which departments belonged together and on which floors.  Each department has a separate entry off of a common corridor. Ample glazing provides natural light to as many occupants as possible. Administration and the Executive Board Room were located on the top floor with the best views and restricted access.
